You could say we’re a bit fanatical about the ingredients we’ve chosen to put into each George product. Each one has been researched up the wazoo and received a thumbs up from science. Basically, they all slap, because we’ve gone straight to the boss, (Mother Nature, not Beyoncé) for our hero ingredients.
Why?
Hair shares many of the same components as ingredients in nature, making it more able to recognise and respond to these nutrient-rich plant goodies. Nifty, right? Plus we’re doing our best to leave the world in a better place than we found it. It sounds a little counterintuitive to release a line of haircare products, but if it means less soaps and chemicals going down the drain, then we’ll do our best to arm you with stuff that is gentle on you and our planet.

WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY CLEAN.
From ingredient sourcing to packaging and post-consumer life – we've set up George to evolve and adapt from an environmental impact perspective.
We are proud partners of 1% For the Planet, donating 1% of our annual sales to a crop of thoroughly vetted and extremely worthy environmental charities.
These guys are working on the frontlines for mother earth – planting trees, making waves, demanding better from government and soulless corporates, and building an ever-growing network of engaged activists.
Here’s how it works:
Commit: We commit to donating at least 1% of annual sales to environmental organizations (because we’re like, SO save the whales!)
Give: We donate directly to one or more approved environmental organizations.
Certify: We then submit donation receipts and revenue documentation to certify as a 1% for the Planet member.
Amplify: We humbly brag about being a 1% For the Planet network member in the hopes we inspire other businesses to do the same!
We've sourced our ingredients and packaging from market leaders in the eco-friendly space and continue to look for ways that we can do better.
We're keeping an eye on eco-plastic and plastic-free innovations that will help us deliver our products to you, without compromising our one earth, or the quality and stability of our formulas.

First up, why did we choose sugarcane plastic?
-It's a clean alternative to traditional plastic, which is derived from crude oil
-Sugarcane is a renewable source, vs. traditional plastic, which is derived from a finite source. It's not biodegradable, but it is recyclable.
-Its manufacturing process has a lower carbon footprint than that of traditional plastic and it absorbs carbon dioxide!
